Cali *Able is pleased to have the following talented coaches working with us. All coaches are fully qualified with the Australian Calisthenics Federation & have Level 1 Accreditation, current First Aid Certificates & Working with Children Clearances. Coaches regularly attend continuing education updating sessions held by the NSW Calisthenics Association & the Australian Calisthenics Federation.
I have been involved with
Sylvania Calisthenics since 1996, competing in teams & solo competitions over the years.
In 2007 I achieved my Level 1 Coaching Accreditation with the Australian Calisthenic Federation and Australian Sports Council.
I have competed & coached with various teams and soloists over the years, retiring in 2013 to raise a family.
I joined our recreational Masters team in 2015, 2016 & 2017. I then returned to compete in our competitive Senior team & began coaching again in 2018.
Inspired by my daughter Indy to start a Cali Club for children with additional needs in 2021, I am also studying Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability).
I look forward to working alongside Narelle on this journey to build
a fun environment where children with an intellectual disability
can learn the Unique art of Calisthenics, dancing, creativity,
new skills, teamwork and most of all have FUN!
I feel Narelle & I make a great team, having both professional & parental knowledge of children with additional learning needs.
I have been a competitive participant for over 20 years at Dowling Calisthenics Academy. Participating in Team competitions and also Solo events during this time I have competed as a club representative and at a national level for NSW at many State and National championships across Australia.
I currently hold my Level 1 Coaching Certificate with the Australian Calisthenic Federation and the Australian Sports Council and have had varied experiences teaching a variety of age groups, solos and duos.
My occupation is an Early Childhood Educator. I have recently sold my business, a child care centre and now I currently work at a local not for profit community preschool with children 3 – 5 years.
I have worked in the industry for over 20 years since gaining my Diploma in Children’s services and have been working alongside children with additional needs more consistently since making the change in my career. I have been learning about how preschool children with additional needs can be integrated into a mainstream class room and learning about a variety of additional needs that children are faced with and how to provide them with stimulating stage appropriate learning opportunities that meet a child’s needs accordingly.
As I continue to work and learn about guiding children with Additional needs, I am very interested to assist & support Lauren with her journey to start CaliAble for children with additional needs and look forward to providing a cali inspired fun class with music movement and dance.
